In the Larder this week February 3rd 2025

The shelf is absolutely full this week I’ve said it before but we never know what will arrive on Monday and we love surprises. This week it’s some musical biscuit tins in the shape of houses and tons of instant mashed potato. The instant mash could be a quick easy way to thicken soup. The fridge has a good range of produce and the freezer has salmon from Farne. We have a whole crate of apples and bananas. We also have potatoes from Greenvale and bakery goods from Duns Coop. Come along for a cuppa and help save the planet. We are open 10am till 12 noon Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The extras table has a mountain of crisps and venison bolognese which also have a short date. This week we have a delivery from Eildon Housing as well as our usual FareShare, Greenvale and Duns Co-op produce. Pop in for a cuppa, pick up some tasty ingredients and help stop all this food from going to landfill. We are open…

The fridge is well stocked. We have some bottles of squeezy butter, which I have never seen before, apparently it can be used straight from the fridge when baking. What next? We also have lots of lovely clementines, vine tomatoes, savoy cabbages, onions and the first of the year’s rhubarb. The shelf has a wide variety of random items and we have some mince pies- if you can face them after Christmas. Greener Duns are going to be holding a repair workshop at Murray Street on the first Saturday of each month starting on February 1st. Look out for the posters. The What Matters Hub will be at the cafe…
