In the “Larder” this week 27th October 2025

We are spoilt for choice in the vegetable department this week.

Some lovely leafy green cabbages, turnips, parsnips, brussel sprouts, tomatoes, runner beans, peas, carrots, red cabbages, potatoes and some mushrooms in the fridge.

Along with that we have some lovely lemons, bananas, golden delicious apples, local apples and some cooking apples that might make a lovely apple crumble to go with the custard in the fridge.

In the freezer we have some pizzas, korean bbq beef gyoza, fries and salmon kindly donated by Farne of Scotland.

Then on the shelfs we have a range of pasta’s, condiments including mayonnaise, bags of kit kat biscuits, some jelly’s, soups and some tonic water. You might need a lemon to go with that.

Thankyou to Eildon Housing for this week’s great donations, it has greatly supplemented the larder this week. Eildon Housing pickup food destined for landfill and they distribute it throughout the community groups.

Everyone is welcome, we are diverting this food from going to landfill and we can do more. Only this morning we threw out two bags that included many carrots, apples, bananas, limes that had gone bad.

Come along with a bag and help stop all this food waste. £2 min donation.
