In the Larder this week 13th January 2025
The fridge is well stocked. We have some bottles of squeezy butter, which I have never seen before, apparently it can be used straight from the fridge when baking. What next? We also have lots of lovely clementines, vine tomatoes, savoy cabbages, onions and the first of the year’s rhubarb. The shelf has a wide variety of random items and we have some mince pies- if you can face them after Christmas. Greener Duns are going to be holding a repair workshop at Murray Street on the first Saturday of each month starting on February 1st. Look out for the posters. The What Matters Hub will be at the cafe…

In the Larder this week January 6th 2025
First, Happy New Year everyone. The café larder will reopen tomorrow, Tuesday 7th January. This week we have lots of broccoli and pointy red peppers as well as a range of other fruit and vegetables. As you will see from the photos the fridge has a good variety of items. The freezer has lots of different types of salmon from Farne. We have potatoes from Greenvale as well as our usual range of bakery goods from Duns Co-op. The shelf has some unusual noodles in two flavours. Pop along for a cosy cuppa and stop all this food going to landfill.

As you will see from the photo this week the fridge has a good selection again. The overnight oats are extra and don’t count in your two fridge items. The range of fresh fruit and vegetables is also good. Lots of lovely cherry tomatoes, blueberries and pears. We even have some early mince pies. Should you eat mince pies before December? You decide.
