The What Matters Hub will be at Murray Street this Tuesday. Last week we had a generous donation of some frozen Wiltshire Farm Foods meals. The freezer will also have salmon from Farne,  smokey bean and veg chilli and Little Moons chocolate ganache ice-creams. The fridge will have a variety of items. It is a real mixture this week. Today we received a large delivery of leeks. I know it’s not soup weather so let’s get inventive and save them from landfill. We are really enjoying collaborating with Abundant Borders. Sabina, from Abundant Borders Cook Fresh, recently organised a slow cooker course at the Duns Fair Share cafe. She is planning an air fryer course in the near future. Claire and the community food growers at the Duns Abundant Borders garden are supplying the community larder with super fresh salad leaves and herbs. We are looking forward to lots more delicious produce.

Last week we had our first weekly delivery of fresh produce from the Abundant Borders Community Garden at Station Road in Duns. The super fresh salad leaves were very popular. We never know from week to week what will be available. This week we have 20 Marks and Spencer cottage pies which need to go tomorrow (Tuesday). They can be frozen. This week is National Volunteer Week. Duns Fair Share is run purely by volunteers. We would not exist without their amazing dedication and hard work. We would like to thank them for everything they do, every week of the year, In the Larder, the freezer will have salmon from Farne and we still have some of the smokey bean and veg chilli available. Last week we were very busy and the Café was buzzing. It was lovely to see so many folk. Thank you for your support. We have managed to order some different frozen items this week to add to our ever popular salmon from Farne. These include breaded Southern fried chicken fillets, cheese penne pasta and smokey bean and veg chilli. The fridge will have strawberry soya yoghurts, Cornish pasties and raspberries.
