In the Larder this week 3rd June 2024
This week is National Volunteer Week. Duns Fair Share is run purely by volunteers. We would not exist without their amazing dedication and hard work. We would like to thank them for everything they do, every week of the year, In the Larder, the freezer will have salmon from Farne and we still have some of the smokey bean and veg chilli available. The fridge will have cheese & bacon chicken Kievs, chicken and vegetable soup, carrot & coriander soup, Heck sausage bombs, Cornish pasties, cheddar & onion quiche and some jellies. Lots of choice again this week. A very generous person has donated a huge amount of delicious rhubarb.…

In the larder this week from 28th May 2024
This week will be busy at Duns Fair Share. We will have the What Matters Hub at the café on Tuesday and Citizens Advice will be available during both sessions. The freezer will have salmon from Farne and we still have some of the smokey bean and veg chilli available. New in the freezer this week are some Little Moons chocolate ganache ice-creams. The fridge will have streaky bacon, pork medallions, jumbo pork sausages, tomato and pasta salad, chicken and vegetable soup, Cornish pasties and sweet & fiery beetroot. Lots of choice. What is in the Larder this week?
Last week we were very busy and the Café was buzzing. It was lovely to see so many folk. Thank you for your support. We have managed to order some different frozen items this week to add to our ever popular salmon from Farne. These include breaded Southern fried chicken fillets, cheese penne pasta and smokey bean and veg chilli. The fridge will have strawberry soya yoghurts, Cornish pasties and raspberries. This is on top of our usual wonderful range of bread and bakery goods donated by the Co-op. We also have potatoes from Greenvale. Come along and help stop all this food going to landfill. From Tuesday 12th March, Duns What Matters Hub (Scottish Borders Council) will be based at 15 Murray Street on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month between 10.00 am – 2.00 pm.
