In the Larder this week August 12th 2024
When does a courgette become a marrow?
We have some huge courgettes from Marchmont House this week. I’m not sure if they should be called marrows or big courgettes. We also have runner beans, onions and a few rainbow carrots. The fridge has twelve tomato and mozzarella pasta bakes which need to go tomorrow, some tomatoes and just a couple of the fresh cucumbers. The freezer has salmon from Farne, spicy bean chilli, honey roast dinners and some more of the very popular rhubarb and custard pies. As always we will have bread and bakery goods from Duns Co-op and potatoes from Greenvale. We will also have more fresh produce on Thursday from Abundant Borders.
The What Matters Hub will be in the cafe tomorrow and Citizens Advice will be available on Thursday.
